A simple beam, of a length 3 m, carries several loads. The beam dimensions and load values and locations are shown in the figures bellow, where:
F1 = 5000 N, F2 = 1000 N, F3 = 3000 N, and F4 = 4000 N, located as shown in the figure
a) Find, supports reactions, b) Draw normal force diagram (NFD), shear force diagram (SFD), and bending moment diagram (BMD), draw to scale as possible. c) Find, maximum bending stress, and its location on the beam. d) Find, maximum shear stress, and its location on the beam. e) Find, maximum tensile stress, and its location on the beam. f) Find, loads at point k, using the diagrams below. |
