3- A single plate clutch is designed to transmit maximum torque (TC) of 240 N m torque at 2200 rpm. The cultch friction plate has an outer diameter (do) of 200 mm and an inner diameter (di) of 120 mm, the coefficient of friction between the friction plate and the surfaces of the flywheel and pressure plate (μ) is 0.3. Calculate:

a) the engine maximum torque (Te max) to couple with this clutch if the clutch factor of safety (SF or b) is 1.6

b) the spring force (Fs or Fn) assuming constant wear  

c) the surface pressure (po) on the friction material.

d) If the allowable tensile strength on the bolt material (σall) is to be 60 MPa.

i) Find the bolts size if the number of clutch cover bolts are 6

ii) Draw a free hand sketch of the bolt while fastening the clutch cover to the flywheel.
