Lexus has also
announced that a high-performance hybrid version of the GS,
called the GS 450h.
The
RX 400h
gas-electric hybrid joins the
RX 330
as the top level of the Lexus RX lineup of midsize luxury SUVs.
Utilizing the latest generation of Toyota�s
Hybrid Synergy Drive,
the RX 400h pairs a powerful V6 engine with two electric motors�one in
front, which can power the drive wheels with or without the internal
combustion engine; and one in the rear which, drives the rear wheels
when the traction of all-wheel drive is needed. Combined output of these
motors is 268 horsepower with a combined fuel economy rating of 29 mpg,
according to the EPA. |
