The Milan sedan, which shares a platform with the Ford Fusion and Lincoln Zephyr. The Milan features distinctive Mercury design cues, including the signature grille, satin aluminum trim and unique rear taillights. The tasteful interior has seating for five and there�s plentiful cargo space in the trunk. Two engines are available: a 160-horsepower 4-cylinder and a 3.0-liter 210 horsepower V6. Milan is expected to go on sale this fall. Meanwhile, the Mountaineer SUV gets a number of updates for the 2006 model year. The exterior is slightly refreshed, while the interior is completely new, from the instrument panel up front to the available power-folding third-row seats.

Other new features include deployable running boards integrated into rocker panels, a stronger frame, new independent rear suspension and bigger brakes. Mountaineer also gets a more powerful 4.6-liter V8 engine with output increased to 292 horsepower.

Mercury will also become the second Ford brand to have a hybrid-powered vehicle. The Mariner Hybrid is the Mercury version of the Ford Escape Hybrid, and aside from the exterior styling, the two vehicles are basically identical. The Mariner Hybrid will arrive this fall�one year ahead of the original schedule.
